The professional service fee covers the expertise, time, and resources required to plan and manage a meaningful farewell for your loved one. It ensures every detail is handled with care and professionalism.
This fee includes

  • Expert Guidance: Supporting families with advice, planning, and creating a personalised service that reflects your loved one’s wishes.
  • 24/7 Availability: Our team is available around the clock to assist, ensuring help is there whenever you need it.
  • Coordination of Services: Arranging and managing the involvement of celebrants, florists, caterers, crematoriums, and other service providers.
  • Compliance and Administration: Handling paperwork, permits, and legal requirements so you don’t have to worry about the formalities.
  • Operational Costs: This fee also helps cover the overheads of running a professional funeral service, including staff training, equipment, facilitates, and behind-the-scenes work that ensures everything runs smoothly. Our professional service fee reflects the dedication, experience, and care our team brings to support you during this difficult time.
We understand this is a sensitive matter, as it is often influenced by circumstances beyond anyone’s control. Yes, we do charge for work carried out outside of normal working hours. We value and respect our staff, and we believe it’s important to recognise and compensate them for the additional demands of working outside regular hours.

This charge is not about generating profit but rather ensuring cost recovery. Our rate is set at $80 per hour, which reflects our legal obligations to compensate staff fairly for their time and dedication during these periods. We always ensure that only those tasks essential for the preparation of the funeral and/or meeting third-party requirements are carried out after hours.
If you choose to hold a funeral outside normal working hours, an additional cost will apply. Your funeral director will explain this during the planning process and include it in your written estimate to ensure clarity and transparency.

We remain committed to supporting families with professionalism and care, no matter the time, while also honouring the well-being of our team. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
In the event of a sudden death, the situation is typically referred to the coroner, who will determine whether further investigation is required. A contracted funeral director will be contacted to transport your loved one to a designated facility for this process. Please note that the funeral director who provides this transport is acting on behalf of the coroner purely for transportation.

As the family, you have the right to choose the funeral director you wish to work with for your loved one’s funeral. Once the coroner’s process is complete, your chosen funeral director will coordinate with the coroner’s office to ensure the transfer of your loved one is handled respectfully and seamlessly.

If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to support you and provide guidance during this challenging time.
Invoices are sent to the estate or to the person to whom we are instructed a few days following the funeral. Our payment terms are 21 days from the date of the invoice and payment methods are outlined on the invoice. Sometimes, there can be delays as the estate awaits probate. If this is the case, please speak to our accounts manager so we can work with you regarding payment.
